The Old Chapel, Fowey

This was the refurbishment of a former Wesleyan chapel in Fowey. The owners asked us to come up with some ideas and this was how we interpreted their wishes.

The chapel was badly converted in the 1980’s and the downstairs needed a bright modern feel. The original dark, damp utility room and entrance hall was converted to a bright modern living area.

A mezzanine floor was installed to bring the floor up to window height making the most of the bright room and giving storage space below.

The back of the house is overlooked by a large cliff so the dark kitchen was replaced and opened up allowing light to flood through.
